About Diane Pfister
For the past 25 years, Diane Pfister has lived and worked in New York, London, and most recently in Connecticut. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, the artist studied Fine Arts at Miami University, Ohio, and post-graduate photographic work at The Parsons School of Design in New York. After moving to London, she studied printmaking during a fellowship at the Slade School of Art and Fine Art post-graduate work at St Martin’s School of Art.
She has worked commercially in various media including collage, photography, and sculpture for illustration before committing herself to painting in 1995. Pfister’s work in oils focuses on raw emotions played out in highly energetic, vibrant and contemporary colors often balanced with a textured Rembrandt-style love for rich browns and neutrals. References to the body, dress, and other forms connect to a substructure of thought and creative expression as the Jungian concept of root connects us all.
Her paintings have been acquired by private and corporate collections in the United States, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Australia.
